't Nije Hemelriek't Nije Hemelriek is a recreational lake near Gasselte in the Gieten-Borger forestry in the Dutch municipality of Aa en Hunz. Just west of the recreational lake is a large sand extraction area with a deep pond. Coarse sand was extracted for construction in the sand extraction area. On the north side of this lake is a large recreational beach.
Blauwe MeerA beautiful artificial lake southeast of Hoogersmilde in the province of Drenthe, Netherlands. A beautiful location for bathing, with controlled water quality. This lake was was formed by quarrying the sand needed for the brick.
Grote RietplasThe Grote Rietplas is a landscaped recreational lake on the south side of Emmen . It was built in the late 90s of the twentieth century after years of haggling over finances. In 1993 and 1994 the municipality of Emmen was also duped by scammer Rob Jacob for about three million euros. He was going to have hundreds of luxury bungalows built there, but before that he ran off abroad with the money from the municipality of Emmen, construction companies and the ING Bank and fled to India.
ReestDe Reest is a Dutch stream that starts in the now excavated raised bog between Slagharen , Lutten and Dedemsvaart and meanders to Meppel , where it flows into the Meppelerdiep approximately 35 km later . The Reest flows on the north side of the primeval valley of the Overijsselse Vecht .
