Boulder Reservoir

Brainard Lake

Gross Reservoir
Gross Reservoir, located in Boulder County, Colorado, is owned and operated by Denver Water. Completed in 1954, the reservoir has a surface area of 440 acres, and the spillway sits at 7,225 feet elevation.The reservoir receives water from the western side of the Continental Divide through the Moffat Tunnel. South Boulder Creek flows out of the 340 foot-high dam.

Lost Lake Trail
Lost Lake is an accessible 4-mile round-trip hike to a beautiful alpine lake surrounded by the mountains of Indian Peaks. The trail up to lost lake takes you along the course of Middle Boulder Creek, a slide waterfall, a set of tumbling cascades, and a variety of wildflowers that decorate the borders of the trail, the creeksides, and the small meadows that open up along the trail.

Mitchell Lake
Mitchell Lake is a beautiful lake located .9 miles from Mitchell Lake Trailhead in the Brainard Lake Recreation Area. It occupies a broad, damp flat on Mt Audubon's south flank. Mild trail conditions are well-suited for families, winter recreation and those with limited time or abilities. It offers good views of surrounding peaks, abundant wildflowers, excellent fishing, and numerous outlying ponds to explore.

Sandbeach Lake Trail
Sandbeach Lake is a good destination for day hikes or backpacking. There are 4 campsites and a group campsite at the lake. The lake got its name from its sandy shore that resembles that of a beach–making it one of best camping spots in Rocky Mountain National Park.

Sawhill Ponds
A beautiful lake located in the heart of Boulder and it is made up of 18 individual ponds with many surrounding trails and bench areas. Several picnic tables are available here and there is a covered picnic pavilion. If planning to fish, a valid CPW fishing license is required for anglers 16 and older.

South Boulder Creek
South Boulder Creek is a tributary of Boulder Creek in central Colorado in the United States. Its source is near Rogers Pass on the Continental Divide. The stream flows to a confluence with Boulder Creek in northeast Boulder. Gross Dam is located on South Boulder Creek, approximately 4+1⁄2 miles west of Eldorado Springs, Colorado.

Teller Lake
This lake sits amidst farmland utilized for livestock grazing, crop production, and even beekeeping. The water sometimes attracts interesting waterbirds and Dickcissel has at times bred in the fields to the south. Lark Bunting and Blue Grosbeak have also been spotted here. It has a dirt and gravel trail that has two trailheads. This flat and easy trail cuts through prairie and farmland.
