Carbon Peak
Carbon Peak, is a summit in the West Elk Mountains of Colorado. The peak is southwest of Crested Butte in the Gunnison National Forest. Chair Mountain

Collegiate Peaks Wilderness
The Collegiate Peaks Wilderness is a 168,000-acre area located in central Colorado between Leadville and Buena Vista to the east and Aspen to the west and Crested Butte to the southwest. There are numerous alpine creeks in the area's wide valleys and these are all quite marshy. Snow does not usually begin to melt until May or June and it remains year-round in places on some of the high peaks.

East Beckwith Mountain
East Beckwith Mountain is a laccolith, formed when magma intruded into Mancos Shale approximately 30 million years ago. The 12,441-foot peak is located in the West Elk Wilderness of Gunnison National Forest. It is noted for its distinctive glacial landforms. On the north side of this elongated, east–west oriented mountain, there are five glacially carved cirques with intervening arêtes, and moraines fan out from the mountain's base.

Fairview Peak
Fairview Peak is a high mountain peak at an elevation of 3.781m above the sea level, located in Gunnison County. The immediate area around Fairview Peak was scorched in a wildfire a few years ago and so there is a ghost forest surrounding the immediate area of the peak. There is not an established trail leading to the summit, however at the top of the peak there is a Forest Service Marker as well as a log book.

Fossil Ridge Wilderness
The Fossil Ridge Wilderness is a U.S. Wilderness Area located approximately 16 miles northeast of Gunnison. Covering 32,179 acres, the area is made up of raw granite that overlooks several shallow high mountain lakes and long valleys carved by ancient glaciers. Pine, spruce, fir, and aspen are found here. The 26 miles of trail within the Wilderness are open to foot and horse travel only.

Relatively new to the trail network, the two sections of Lupine were built in 2011 and 2012.Keep in mind this is a very popular mountain bike trail, especially on weekends. The trail can be hiked one way, with a shuttle from either end, but there is no parking allowed in the Saddle Ridge subdivision or on Gothic road.

Rustler Gulch Trail
Rustler Gulch Trail is a scenic valley hike that displays an abundance of wild flowers, a waterfall and gorgeous surrounding landscapes. The trailhead starts through a field of flowers and continues through the woods. It follows a river that you will have to cross several times. I would recommend wearing water-resistant shoes, as the water is very high in some points and you will have to walk through it.
