Olive Ridley turtles nest on Chennai beaches at night,  between January and April every year. During this season,  volunteers of Students Sea Turtle Conservation Network (SSTCN) walk through the beaches in night looking for their eggs and move them to safe places. Once the turtle hatchlings comes out after  45  days,  they are released into sea.  The cleaning drive was to  make that part of the beach debris free,  where the eggs are relocated so that  the baby turtles can easily paddle through the beach to the sea when they are released.  It's joyous feel to help the turtle,  but is indeed sad too  to help a creature  that have survived millions of years on it's own. Mindlessness of man have led all seven species of sea turtles critically endangered.
