About Georgetown Lake
Georgetown Lake is a 2,818-acre reservoir in Deer Lodge and Granite Counties, Montana. The reservoir impounds the North Fork of Flint Creek and lies at an elevation of 6,337 feet just west of the Anaconda Range. Georgetown ReservoirThe Georgetown Lake, located just off I-70 is the easiest to access fishing location in the area. The lake is equipped with handicap-accessible fishing docks and a maintained trail that borders the entire lake. It also sports a big-horn sheep viewing area and plenty of places to set up a family picnic. Boating on the lake is allowed so long as they are not motorized. This includes gas or electric motors.
Silverdale TrailheadThis wonderful network of trails is just a short drive away from the municipality of Georgetown in Colorado. Hike the paths and notice the structures that remain from the old mines in the area. Whether you are a history buff or not, these mines are impressive and cool to see as you meander down the forested path.
Silver PlumeThis is a former mining town tucked in a narrow canyon at over 9,000 feet. Silver Plume has a very rich history. That history can be viewed by the general public either at the George Rowe Museum, which is in the original school house of the town, or by walking the 7:30 Mine Trail, which gives the individual a grand view of the Silver Plume valley and the town nestled at its base. The town is part of the Georgetown-Silver Plume National Historic District.
