The lake is equipped with handicap-accessible fishing docks and a maintained trail that borders the entire lake. It also sports a big-horn sheep viewing area and plenty of places to set up a family picnic. Boating on the lake is allowed so long as they are not motorized. This includes gas or electric motors.

Silver PlumeThis is a former mining town tucked in a narrow canyon at over 9,000 feet. Silver Plume has a very rich history. That history can be viewed by the general public either at the George Rowe Museum, which is in the original school house of the town, or by walking the 7:30 Mine Trail, which gives the individual a grand view of the Silver Plume valley and the town nestled at its base. The town is part of the Georgetown-Silver Plume National Historic District.
George Rowe MuseumA beautiful msueum that shows life from the late 1800s through early 1920s. This five room Romanesque designed brick schoolhouse educated the community until it closed in 1959. Ore carts and other mining artifacts highlight the town's rich mining history while a restored 19th century school room provides a glimpse into the past.
