Log Hill Mesa is a beautiful spot in Ouray County, Colorado, and there are plenty of things to do there. Visitors can hike or bike along the many trails, enjoying the stunning scenery. Log Hill Mesa is a rural unincorporated community in Ouray County, Colorado, USA. According to the Western History/Genealogy Department at the Denver Public Library, the Log Hill Mesa area was first settled in 1875. The settlers were primarily ranchers and farmers who were drawn to the area by the fertile soil and mild climate. The community grew steadily over the next few decades, and by 1900 it had a population of nearly 500. However, the population began to decline after World War II, and by 1970 it had fallen to just over 200. Today, Log Hill Mesa is a quiet community with a population of less than 400. The town is home to several small businesses, including a grocery store, hardware store, and gas station. There are also several churches and a K-8 school. Log Hill Mesa is a popular destination for hikers and campers due to its proximity to the San Juan Mountains.

The best time to visit is during the summer, when the weather is warm and the scenery is at its best. During the summer, you can enjoy hiking, mountain biking, and fishing in the area. You can also take scenic drives along the mesa top and explore the many small towns in the area.

Log Hill Mesa is a beautiful place to visit, and there are a few different ways to get there. The simplest way is to take Highway 550 North from Ouray, and then turn onto County Road 4 (also known as Log Hill Road). County Road 4 will take you all the way to the top of Log Hill Mesa. Alternatively, you can also take County Road 7 from Ridgway, which will lead you to the north side of Log Hill Mesa. From there, you can take a short hike to the top of the mesa. 

There is no entrance fee to explore this area.
