About Jefferson Davis State Historic Site
The Jefferson Davis State Historic Site is a beautiful monument honoring the life of our nation's only president, Jefferson Davis. The site includes a raised stone monument and flagpole that stands on the east side of land once held by Mr.Davis. It includes a museum displaying artifacts from his life as well as an auditorium containing photos from significant events in American history. Fulwood ParkFulwood Park features two miles of wooded trails that are perfect for hiking and birdwatching. Natural vegetation and habitats can be found on each trail. For the water enthusiasts there is a fifty-acre lake with easy access for kayaking, fishing, and swimming. A pavilion located on the lake makes it easy to have a picnic or barbecue as well. Other amenities include camping grounds with playgrounds, bathrooms, and showers; restrooms throughout the trails; an amphitheater for hosting events.
