The Alapaha River Wildlife Management Area offers an incredible wildlife-watching experience. Here, visitors will find a rich array of waterfowl and wading birds like great blue herons, marsh hawks and egrets. The area also contains upland habitats populated with wild turkeys, white-tailed deer, bobwhite quail and rabbits. Fishing opportunities abound on the river's warmouth bass, redbreast sunfish and bluegill as well as in the beaver ponds stocked with largemouth bass.
