Pumlenpat is the second largest lake in Manipur after the Loktak Lake, situated about 68 km south of Imphal (the capital of Manipur, a state in North East India) and about 45 km from Thoubal. Khongjom War Memorial ComplexKhongjom War Memorial is a historical attraction located on Kheba Hill on Indo-Myanmar road. Khongjom War Memorial is one of the popular tourist place in Thoubal district that reminds the visitors about the war which held between the locals of Manipur and the British Army in 1891. Specifically, the memorial is dedicated to Major General Paona Brajabashi who martyred while serving for his motherland.

The national park is characterized by many floating decomposed plant materials locally called phumdis.
