Ahilya FortAhilya Fort, in the central Indian town of Maheshwar, sits high above the sacred river Narmada. Maharani Ahilyabai Holkar ruled here from 1765 to 1796 and built Ahilya Wada, her personal residences, offices, and darbaar audience hall, within the fort. In the year 2000, Prince Richard Holkar, her descendant and son of the last Maharaja of Indore, converted his home in Ahilya Wada into a guest residence, today known around the world as the Ahilya Fort Hotel.
Baija TaalBaija Taal Cultural Complex is Gwalior city’s latest attraction. It was built by Baija Baj, belonging to the Scindia family. Originally here stood an oval-shaped tank with bridges leading to the surrounding stone steps. The tank was meant for ceremonial and festive use. Now it is modified and rebuilt as a cultural complex containing an art gallery and open-air theatre.
Bajramath TempleBajramath Temple is a rare temple located in Gyaraspur tehsil. This temple has three shrines or cells that are placed abreast. Bandhavgarh FortThe Bandhavgarh Fort is situated in Bandhavgarh in Umaria district rising 811 meters above sea level at the centre of the Bandhavgarh National Park. Central Museum , IndoreIndore Museum, which is popularly known as Central Museum, is located near the General Post Office in Indore. The artifacts exhibited in the museum range from the prehistoric to the modern era. Museum has two galleries, out of which Gallery I houses all the artifacts from the prehistoric period of Madhya Pradesh ranging from 5,000 to 4,000 BC. This gallery also holds exhibits from western Malwa, which includes stone tools, quartz sickles, ornaments, and items of domestic use.
Chausath Yogini TempleChausath Yogini Temple in Morena is located on a hilltop and one of the rarest of rare Hindu temples in India dedicated to the Tantric sect of Chausath or 64 Yogini. ChhatrisSet in a formal Mughal garden and constructed by under the rule of the Scindias, the Chhatri is one of the famous monuments that shows a fine blend of both Mughal as well as Hindu culture. There is a mugal garden in the backyard which has the royal tombs of the Scindias. Life size portraits of the Scindhias are there within the Chhatris and these are religiously worshipped with flowers and incense.
Chintaman Ganesh Temple UjjainChintaman Ganesh is the biggest temple of Lord Ganesha in Ujjain which dates back to the 11th and 12th centuries when the Paramaras ruled over Malwa..
