Mearns CastleA majestic ruin of four storey, rectangular tower house built in 1449 by the powerful Maxwell family. It was ruinous by the nineteenth century but was later restored and used as a church until the 1970s when a dedicated building was constructed directly abutting the old castle. The castle has been restored and is now part of the Maxwell Mearns Castle Church. It also gives its name to nearby Mearns Castle High School.

This beautiful golf club was established in 1895 and is one of the oldest in the area. Located on undulating parkland, the course offers a picturesque outlook - from just about anywhere on the course there are superb views out to the North and West. The course is surrounded by picturesque and panoramic views of the City of Glasgow, and you can also enjoy the fine views towards the North West and Loch Lomond.
