PaddepoelThis is a small park in the north of the city of Groningen. The park is located between the Selwerd and Paddepoel districts , between Eikenlaan and the Northern ring road. On the northern side of the ring road, the park merges into the site of the former castle Selwerd and the Paddepoelsterweg towards the Van Starkenborgh Canal. The park was created in the 1970s as a neighborhood park for Selwerd and Paddepoel. The route of the Pieterpad runs through the park.
WalfridusbrugThe Walfridus Bridge is a railway bridge north of Groningen over the Van Starkenborgh Canal and the N361 for the Groningen - Delfzijl railway line . The current bridge was built in 2003 and replaced a bridge from 1932. This bridge is double track and also has a cycle path.The bridge is named after Saint Walfrid. The bridge was built in Belgium by the steel builder Victor Buyck Steel Construction from Eeklo.
