It is housed in the Lange Voorhout Palace dating from 1764 and since 2002 has housed a permanent exhibition entirely devoted to the work of the Dutch graphic artist Maurits Cornelis Escher .With more than 120 works, prints of almost his entire oeuvre can be seen at 'Escher in Het Paleis'. Prince William V of Oranje-Nassau had the room built in 1774 in order to exhibit his paintings. The walls were fully covered, in order to clearly show the wealth of his collection.
