To reach the summit, follow Highway 285 south from Fairplay for approximately 15 miles. Turn left onto County Road 18 and continue for 6 miles. Then turn right onto a dirt road and follow it for another 2 miles to the trailhead. The hike to the summit is about 3 miles round trip and is considered moderate in difficulty. 

 There is no entrance fee to Pennsylvania Mountain, visitors are required to pay a daily use fee of $5 per vehicle. 

Pennsylvania Mountain is open year-round, and the hours vary depending on the season. In the summer, the park is open from dawn to dusk, and in the winter, it is open from 9AM to 4PM. During the fall and spring, the park is open from 8 AM to 6 PM.
