SemmeringbahnThe Semmeringbahn was an incredible feat of engineering and it took more than 20,000 workers’ years to complete. It is commonly referred to as the world's first true mountain railway, given the very difficult terrain and the considerable altitude difference that was mastered during its construction. It is still fully functional as a part of the Southern Railway which is operated by the Austrian Federal Railways.

Zauberberg SemmeringThe ski resort Zauberberg Semmering is located in the District of Neunkirchen, Lower Austria. It is approximately midway between Vienna and Graz, about one hundred kilometres from each. This is a very small ski resort with just three ski lifts but it does boast a respectable 355 metres of vertical descent. Zauberg Semmering has 14 kilometers of pistes. Burg Seebenstein Seebenstein Castle is in Seebenstein , Lower Austria . The hilltop castle consists of two systems, the old part with a round keep and a dilapidated palace from the 13th/14th centuries. Century and the high castle from the 15th to 17th century. The latter houses an important collection of weapons and medieval art, including a sculpture of the Virgin Mary by Veit Stoss . A Madonna by Tilman Riemenschneider was sold. It is a limestone massif, rich in wildflower meadows and good views, and runs from west to east to the Klein-Veitsch Alm, a distances of around 5.5 km. There is also a plateau walk via Seeboden to the Kleinveitschalm.

Myra WaterfallsMyra Waterfalls was a series of cascades and small waterfalls on the Myrabach with a total drop of maybe 70m. The gorge runs from north to south and is protected as a natural monument. The subsoil of the gorge is limestone. The Myrabach falls in several cascades through the gorge. At the upper and lower end the water is impounded into a small pond.

The Semmering is a mountain pass in the Eastern Northern Limestone Alps that forms a natural border between Lower Austria and Styria.The Semmering Pass is featured on a famous commemorative coin: the 25 euro 150 Years of the Semmering Alpine Railway Coin. The Semmering ski resort, which also hosts World Cup events, is located at the pass and extends on to the Hirschenkogel mountain.
