About Rijkerswoerdse Plassen
The Rijkerswoerdse Plassen is a Dutch recreation area in the province of Gelderland . Located in the municipality of Overbetuwe , between the Arnhem district of De Laar and the Overbetuwe village of Elst . It is part of Park Lingezegen. The area consists of two lakes that have been created by sand extraction since the late 1970s and is named after the hamlet that was located nearby until the construction of the Arnhem district of Rijkerswoerd.Address : Rijkerswoerdse Plassen, 6661 Elst, Netherlands

Park LingezegenPark Lingezegen is a landscape park under construction between Driel , Arnhem-South and Huissen in the north and Elst, Nijmegen-Lent and Bemmel in the south. The park offers space for agriculture , recreation and new nature . The total area is 1700 hectares. The park will be laid out in large parts around the de Linge waterway , giving the canal a more animal-friendly character, partly because the steep quays are being replaced by sloping banks.

De OversteekThe Crossing , also called City Bridge, is a bridge for car traffic over the Waal, in Nijmegen. The road over the bridge has been named General James Gavinsingel since 2016. The river crossing was opened in November 2013 and is located west of the two existing Nijmegen bridges. On the south side, the bridge connects to the Verlengde Energieweg, on the north side to the Graaf Alardsingel.
SpiegelwaalThe Spiegelwaal is a secondary channel of approximately 4 kilometers in the Waal near Nijmegen. The channel was constructed between 2013 and 2015 as part of the Room for the Waal project. The Spiegelwaal is not a through route for shipping. The water is therefore particularly suitable for water sports such as canoeing, rowing, windsurfing and sailing. A rescue brigade is also active for water sports enthusiasts and recreational swimming.
